New rifle has been acquired

Dear Sir, I am happy to report that through some trading  and penny pinching I am the proud new owner of a 1866 carbine in 45lc.  ...
She makes for a good companion for my 1872 OT's in 44 Russian.

I procured an 1866 rifle in .44 Special that I shoot .44 Colts quite successfully with - a perfect match to my Colt and Remington conversion pistols in the same caliber.  Somewhere in one of my books I have some photos of an Army officer with an 1866 and a Richards conversion.
