.45-70 winchester?

I was at a gun store the other day. They had a 1876 Winchester and claimed it to be .45-70.
Was there a .45-70 version of this gun?
Is $2450 way too much for one?

Most likely a 45-75. Price depends on condition if original. If it's a repro it's not even worth 1/2 of that price.

No example of an 1876 in 45-70 has ever been documented.  Most likely, they have a 45-75.  Condition would have to be very good for that price. :)
