 :)Howdy Pards,
I will be glad to be home :)Visting is good, but sometimes a shorter stay is better! Right before I left i had laid out a holster design for my 1851 Navy US MARSHALLS , they are so nice looking, with being in the white and all the engraving, I designed a  Gun fighter rig, Double Strong Side, Gun Fighter style (Holywood style) shows lots of the gun, going to put the works on it,  a couple of cylinder holders, a knife sheath to match, and a lot of Bling. I plan on it takeing me a lot of time making it, instead of some the quailty that I have done! I want to do a very professional job (if I am capable of doing a pro job) I might make my cylinder holders and incorperate, 2- 45/70 shell holders on each side of the cylinder holder! Realy want to make some thing that will be different but not over down!
I got to do something to get you guys bussing again :o :o
More likely give you guys something to Laugh about  ;D ;D :)
You all Have a nice weekend coming up!

 :)Howdy Fellows,
I made er home & home, and you all know what i mean! Had a lot of time to think while I out seeing my son! In the afternoons when the old back would give out, I would lay on the couch and read, while the boy and the wife went shopping! Also a lot of day dreaming. got to go to the Tandy store at Portland, I didn't want to keep everyone waiting so I wasn't in there to long, got some of the stuff I needed, but he didn't have  it all! About three days later (My Son Lives In The Tri City Area, Posco Wa.,we did a lot site seeing, old dad here could ownley ride so long, but we went threw this little town, must of had a population of 250 people and right there on the road this guy had a saddle shot and leather, so we pulled in, and he was a Tandy store, he had a lot of stuff, got everything i needed and some other stuff and since I bought $52.65 he gave me 20% of that, and his prices were the same as tandy's. So that made me happy!
Did forget to tell you, when we were in Portland, they have the LargestUsed and new Book Store in the West.
Since I have allways loved guns, and Old ones, and have got involved in trying to shoot BPCR (only for fun)! Way up on a top self was a book that I had been looking for, and Have found 2 and both were worn pretty good, and they both sold for over a $100.00, I got a clerk to get it down for me, knowning that in it's shape it would be $150.00 at least, the clerk handed it to me and I could not believe how nice it was :o So I was kinda wondering if I should call 911 before I open it or not! I thought what the heck, don't cost to look ;D I open it up and it was marked $50.00, the wife looked at me, because see new I had been looking for that book, so she bought it for me for my X-mas present! And no sales Tax in Oregon!
So it does show you, a Old Dog can get a bone once in a while :) :)

Sure is nice to be back home, and home with my family here!

I will be talking to you all tomorrow!

Dr. Bob

Howdy Ace,

Bet that book had been up there a LONG time! :o ;D  Glad that you got one at a real good price.

Sounds like you had a great time visiting your son.  I'm lucky, mine lives about 15 miles from me.  My daughter lives about 12 miles away, so I can see them both. ;D  Glad you had a safe trip back to the Kansas plains.

 :) Howdy Bob,
Thanks for the Kind words :) You are lucky to have your kids around!!! I think the Hardest thing for us is that we were just kids when we had a kid, and we all kind of grew up toghter! My wife had a bad childhood, i didn't, mine was average, farm boy, allways had ways to make money, started picking up pecans as early as I can remember, at the age of 7 or so, In the fall I would pick up enough pecans to go to the movies on Sat. night in town, 19 cents a lb.. When I was 11- 12 my dad bought me a 1949 Chevy pickup for $50.00! Had a rod knocking in the motor, with the help of my dads (advice) I rebuilt the engine, took me a couple weeks every evening with emery cloth working down that bad rod jounal, got it worked down and polished to a .001th undersize and put all new rod bearings and had to special order 1 -.001th over, filed the cap and rod and plastic gauged it untill she was in specs, hand lapped the the valves in my self, put it toghter, and grabbed the chain saw, and off to the hedge row I would go every evening after school to cut fence post's. The guy that bought them, lived about 12 miles away, and i could take gravel roads all the way there. Had to do the pecan picking when they were ready to pick, and then cut hedge post's, untill it was time to farm! We had a little 7 acre piece of ground that was pretty bad, but that was mine! And after expensives, the profit was mine, for helping him farm the rest.
So I allways had a way to make my own money! Never made my soon do anything, except when he was in high school, we made him work part time, to buy his gas. I paid for everything else, because we had a deal, A plus grades, and dad bought the cars, and paid the bills! I started him off with a VIC 20 Tape drive computer at 6 years old, pounded it in his head, that you make your money with your mind and not your hands like the old man here! He graduated H.S. Validictorian ! Didn't think he would ever get out of PSU, got 6 degrees, i wasn't able to pay for his higher education, i helped all I could. He is going to be 33 In Feb. and he make $75,000.00 a year and get 6 weeks vaction, not to bad!! Only 2 things i ever done Right, was marring my Lovely Wife, and raising a Good Kid! It is very hard for us, that he lives so far away, but he loves it out west, and he will never move back this way!

Sorry that I got so winded, when I get talking about my Son, it is hard for me to SHUT UP!!
But, I open up to my close friends and Family!

God Bess all of you!
And Cas City!!

JD Alan

Hi Ace, I wish I could have met you on your trip out west. I live about 15 miles from Powel's books, it's quite a store. I bought Packin Iron from them, and a lot of other books. If you came in from Pasco, that's a pretty good haul. I get up to Pasco once a year for a Men's Conference put on by the Washington state Assemblies of God. I'm an AG pastor in Sherwood, just SW of Portland. I ride my Harley to Pasco each year for the motorcycle rally that goes along with the conference. I've been doing that since 2003.

I understand being proud of your son. Mine just graduated high school and is going to the local JC for two years, before transfering to Portland State. He lives at home. My daughter is married with two kids that we see each week at church, and at least once during the week. Grandkids are the greatest! We're grateful they live close by.

We'll be married 32 years in April. I wish you the best, JD

JD,
I wished I would of know that, I would of loved visiting with you  :( that could of worked out nice! I have allways love the West, and when first married thought about moving, things just didn't work out!
I am so jet lagged and worn out, and the back just won't let me out of bed. I think it is going to take all week to get rid of some of the extra ackes and pains!
JD, I thank you for your reply and that would of been nice to have meet!
I better go!
You all have a good one!

That holster also has a clip on the back so if he wants he can take it off the straps and carry on his belt.
