Interesting...

I've come across the firm B. Kittredge of Cincinnati lately in some of my searching.

I guess they were a major player amongst gun dealers during and just after the Civil War.

From what I've read they were a major dealer handling Maynard firearms.

Because of this, Oliver Winchester refused to let them carry his rifles.

But Colt's didn't have a problem with Kittredge.

In fact from what I've read, Kittredge ordered 11 of the 19 Colt Single Action Carbines (the so called "Buntline Specials") that Colt built.

Wow, they have gone up.  About three years ago one was on Ebay and sold for about $600
