Interesting...

I've come across the firm B. Kittredge of Cincinnati lately in some of my searching.

I guess they were a major player amongst gun dealers during and just after the Civil War.

From what I've read they were a major dealer handling Maynard firearms.

Because of this, Oliver Winchester refused to let them carry his rifles.

But Colt's didn't have a problem with Kittredge.

In fact from what I've read, Kittredge ordered 11 of the 19 Colt Single Action Carbines (the so called "Buntline Specials") that Colt built. ;)

Wow, they have gone up.  About three years ago one was on Ebay and sold for about $600
