Same Guncase for Storage and Transport

This may be a dumb question, but it has increasingly been on my mind.

I take my gunz to the range in a fabric case and bring them back home.  I take the gunz out of their cases and clean them.  Then, I return the gunz to those same cases and lock them up.

My question is, does this procedure present potential for corrosion?  In other words, does the case carry any residual gases or fouling that might "breed" corrosion while the gunz are stored?

Thanks for any info you may offer.

August,
I don't do it, pistol socks are relatively cheap, guns are expensive.  I worry about Black powder residue from the range.  I keep "clean" ones in the gunsafe for storing the weapons once they are cleaned.  I pull them out, wipe them off and inspect them before putting them in the "range" socks before a match (usually the night before).  I also have padded cases that I put the socked guns in for longer distance transport.  I believe the key is to keep the residues in the sock and not in contact with the firearm any longer than it takes you to get to where you will clean them.

Every season I wash the socks, sooner if they look dirty or if I smell sulfer.

I am picky about my firearms, but you can tell it when you look at them.

The ONLY rust I've had on my guns was found after they were stored in the gun case.  So, I don't store guns in cases anymore.

I don't use gun socks to store my guns.  Pistols are in lined drawers & long guns are in the safe uncovered.  Have a Truckvault in the Tahoe for transport.  Long guns are socked up then placed in Truckvault night before a match & unloaded immediately after getting home.  Pistols go in zippered gun rugs then the Truckvault for transport.  Gun socks get washed a couple times a year.  Dirty pistols are wrapped in polishong cloths before zippered in gun rugs to keep the rugs clean.
