Saddlebags....hmmmm....

Getting geared up to make some saddlebags. There seem to be a couple of different methods, some with internal sewing of the pouches and some with external sewing.
Which are period correct for the 1880's?

Do Will G's patterns tell what thickness leather you need to buy?

I made several M59, M76 and M85 Styles and rebuilt some 04's

Somewhere I have the pattern for the smallish M59 and I sent a cutting pattern for a larger set  to Johnny McCree
He may still have it 

I also made outside stitched Cantena's with holsters check the archives I sold a set to 1/2 Way Creek Charlie.
