Nice find!!

I've had a couple of the 29K's over the last 10 years or so, & I've been looking for a 29K60 for about that long too! (My saddler mate has 2 60's, but being a saddler refuses to sell his spare one)

The ONLY MINOR problem with these machines is the size of the bobbin, so try to get a few spares & pre-load them with the same colour thread as you're using for your job.
Talking of which, its traditional to sew items with "self coloured" threads, i.e. black thread on black leather, brown thread on brown leather, etc. The use of white and/or yellow thread on some items reflects the change to mass production on sewing machines...by keeping white or yellow thread only, the machines lost less"down time" by constantly having to swap over to the correct colour whenever they changed jobs
As per lots of things, this then became the norm/a "design feature" & in the eyes of the public its what they now expect a lot of the time...

Copies of the 29K are still made in China & sell for LOTS here, which is mad as originals are still very common/cheap

I have scans of the 29K manual somewhere if thats of use to anyone (also scans of the 45K manual/BUSM Co No.6)

I bought one online, and it was tremendously helpful. :D

I'm having some issues getting it to pick up the bobbin. I think I simply have something set up wrong. Mama Thunder is coming out next week to visit. She used to use a similar machine, so she's gonna show me the in's and out's of their use.
