A challenge

I don't know how many of you realize it but the GAF is approaching a milestone for our organization. We are nearing 500 members. While this is a pretty small number for a world wide organization, it is still a number that we weren't sure we'd ever meet just a few years ago. We've grown to a point where it isn't nearly as uncommon for someone to have heard of us. We're providing honor guards and flag ceremonies. We hold our own National shoot with a unique format and we've held several department level "mini-musters". We're making an impact in the CAS community.
My challenge is that each one of us go out and try to recruit just one new member, try to be the one that recruits "Number 500".  And remember, if you recruit 10 members you are eligiable for the Star of Merit. Recruiting isn't that difficult, if you enjoy the GAF tell your pards about it. When you wear a uniform to a shoot it gives you a perfect oppertunity to tell people about the GAF, they always want to know about your uniform. I'm nearing a second SoM for recruiting, so if I can recruit members, anybody can. Just get out there and tell someone about our unique organization.

Pitspitr makes some excellent points - and appears to be an outstanding recruiter!  I've really seen an increase in enlistments this last month or so.

Well done to all those who have spread the word about the GAF and enlisted a few more to our ranks.

Right now we don't have a mechanism in place to monitor how many you enlist - you have to keep track of that yourself.  But once you meet the number required for a SoM, just let us know.

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or anything, but you are confusing Pony Racer with me.  I'm am just glad so many people liked the article enough to want to enlist.  I also like to just hand out the new brochure to any and everybody.  I think the boys did a bang up job on it.
