OK...now an Indian War Kepi

Hey.  Thanks for the info on the cavalry trousers....I have made contact with The Fort in Lincoln, NE and got a nice response.  They have 'em.  Now looking for an IW Kepi...Dirty Billy has 'em for $100+ and was wondering if there are decent kepis out there for some fewer bucks?

Fair Oaks sutler advertises a Indian Wars kepi for $25.  I don't know if this is the 1872 pattern or just their CW kepi sold as an Indian War kepi.

I would also recommend the Quartermaster Shop.  Slightly more expensive but excellent quality, and their turnaround time is far better than Dirty Billy.

I concur with this. I can't speak for their hats but I have some insignia by this company and a uniform coat and they did good work.
As for Dirty Billy's, I personally wouldn't take a leak on the building if it was on fire. They have the absolute worst customer service on the planet. I went to their store and ordered a hat from them a few years ago, it showed up much later than promised, much more money than they said it would and it was an entire number hat size smaller. When I returned it with a note stating these reasons, they called me and left a voice mail stating they don't need my business and to never order form them ever again! I guess I was wrong to return something that wasn't close to what I had ordered. What nerve of some people, huh?
