12th Illinois at Jerseyville

I had the pleasure of re-enacting with our SSS pard 12th Illinois at the Victorian days Civil War battle in Jerseyville, IL yesterday! (I would be there today, but I am sick as a dog!)  Our unit, Co. F 12th ILL had to "cross dress" and become confederate!  He blasted away with his Spencer and I blasted away with my Henry.  There were two other Henry rifles, so we were a heavy weapons squad!

We was all killed or captured, as the Federalist numbers were just too great!

He made me miss having a Spencer!

   Bernie,

   Good fighting with you last Saturday. Too bad you couldn't make Sunday. We still won, even being down one Henry. You got away before I could give you my e-mail adress, but you can get it off the SSS site.
   I may go up to Princtin in October for a day and fight with the 3rd Iowa. We've fought with them before and get along with them very well. Talk to you later...........Rick

Howdy 12th IL,

I will stay in touch.  As for not feeling well and copping out Sunday, it turns out I have pneumonia!  I stayed down sunday, Monday, and tried to work Tuesday.  Made it through the day, but called in sick Wednesday and went to the doctor.  I am in bed on a laptop on mega meds!
