I made this set for the Smoke N Iron 2 Nebraska BlackPowder Shootout this year. Run N Iron is donating an engraved '58 Remington with a conversion cylinder, and I made the holsters. They get whichever side they want, and the other will go on my target model '58, unless they want it too.

I used Will G's Cheyenne pattern, but ended up waay too small for some reason. Had to do some restitch and add a welt to the top. They fit well now, but I'm not too happy about the final look with the welt.

The color is 5 days of walnut dye, then a few days of work sitting on my dash getting a tan. Topcoat of Skidmores.

I am going to try and get some outside, sunlit pics up, as they show color better than my lighting. Thanks. DM

Boy, those look good. The color is terriffic with that design. I really like the balanced look. They could be right out of packing Iron. Nice, nice work. Thanks for the pics.

That is some beautiful work.  You should be very proud of what you accomplished there!

I know a guy who has a Remington that would look really good in one of those!

Thank you all for the kind words. I really figured they would be darker after 5 days in the brew, but.....

Great work DM!  I love 'em.  Not much more I can say that hasn't been said.

I had the same problem with WG's remmy pattern that I made.  Way too tight, I thought.  I sold that one to a guy for ten bucks and made one 1/4" wider and it worked better.

Well, the shoot is over, the gun was given away, and it went to a good pardette that normally shoots with us. She wanted the right hand holster, but she ended up with both. I couldnt split up the pair ;D ;)

So, now, I gotta go make me something else to dye with walnuts! Darn,  ::) lol
