I can't think of any movie where Henry Fonda played Jessie, but he did play Frank James in the movie Jessie James (1939).  Tyrone Power played Jessie.  The evil railroad agent was played by Brian Donlevy.  He threw a bomb into the James' house after they wouldn't sell, and it killed their mother.

In reality, when the Pinkertons threw the bomb into the James' house it didn't kill their mother.  It severly injured her arm which eventually had to be amputated.  The bomb did kill a mentally challanged step brother of Jessie and Frank.  I believe the boy was around 15 years of age.

Henry Fonda also played Frank James in the sequel to the Tyrone Power movie.  It was called "The Return Of Frank James".  I liked the "Pinky" character played in both...  now what was that black fella's name???

Never said Hollywood was accurate, everyone knows in reality Jessie's mom went on to sell all sort's of memorabilia supposedly belonging to Jessie for many years after his demise (can't really say shootin', as the jury is still out, even with DNA tests).

The actor that played Pinky in both movies was Ernest Whitman.
