Here is a ball bag and a belt pouch containing my first attempt at tooling.  Dye came out way too dark.  Luckily I guess it hides some mistakes.  The spout is for a 58 cal. ball got it from dixie.  It holds the 44 balls well and the no longer spillout into my saddlebags.

You did a great job on both pieces Mogorilla. Keep it up and you will be giving the rest of us pointers. I really like the shape of the pouch and the large and small spots really set off your carving well.

Hey, lookin' good MG. I like the dark color. It works nicely with those pistolas. The tooling and spots are a good look. Fine work. Be sure to post pics of any new stuff you make.

Add some tassles or hair to the belt pouch and double the size and you'd have a beautiful sporan.

thanks for the compliments guys!   Question.  My main beef with the tooling was the concentric ovals.  Do you guys do any such thing?  I had them perfect on the paper patern, but they transferred less than ideal.  I have been thinking of some drafting templates.

Mo, you talking about the oval around your carving?? I would just do one line as perfect as possible, cut it with my swivel knife, then use a divider to lightly mark the line for inner/outer ring. Then go back and cut that one, then bevel. Yours dont look bad. Just a few little wiggles in there.
I just use my patterns for suggestions anymore. I gave up trying to copy it exact.
