Howdy gents. Was wondering what letter powder funnel you guys are using on 44-40s? Gonna order just the funnel, and dont know which one. I am just going to load some blackpowder 44-40s for a friend, and dont want to buy the whole separate conversion.
Is the shellplate letter "C"? Thats what my 45 plate is, and the 44-40 fits there good.
Thanks. DM

The dies are the only thing I change out, I only have 2 one for .38 and one for .45...  Call Dillon they hook you up with the right one.  I am sure they have one for every cal. I just got doing it that way, cuz I'm cheap

Dillon makes a conversion kit for .44-40 that includes the powder funnel. It's part # 20206. ($40.95).  The website seems to have a glitch so you can't scroll down on the powder funnels, but I'm sure if you call them they'll send you the specific .44-40 funnel.  If you look through the website for .44-40 parts, remember that Dillon lists them in the rifle category.
Lunarian, n.  An inhabitant of the moon, as distinguished from Lunatic, one whom the moon inhabits. (Ambrose Bierce).  Which one are you?

Dalton Masterson

Yep thats my plan. I just dont want to spend 40 bucks on a conversion if I can spend 12 or so on a funnel. Just needed the correct funnel number. I didnt have a glitch last night when I was scrolling, but saw several 44 cal funnels. Thanks. DM

I use the "G", the #4 is a bit smaller. I also use .429 bullets. If you are using .427 bullets the 4 might work better. There is about .003 difference.
