I will try again, I didnt have the size correct, I believe I got it now. I hope they go to a good home upon my death shortly after my wife finds them.

Probably has to be the rifle, I have always preferred longer barrels, although the carbine is handy in Pennsylvania mountain laurel, and rhododendruns.

That's a nice pair of Spencers that you've got yourself.  I also own both a rifle and a carbine.  I prefer the rifle version myself.  I like the overall looks of the rifle better and I feel that it handles better.  The extra inches of barrel help balance out the weight of the action and magazine.
