I just got a new Pre War and want to know if USFA sights in their completed guns?  If so, what distance are they sighted in at?  Anybody know what brand of ammo they use? :)

If I remember correctly they charge an extra $35 + ammo cost to sight in your gun as everyone uses a different load. The problem is that if you use handloads you're probably SOL unless you want to pay Hazmat fees to ship them your reloaded ammo. I just gave a gunsmith 30 rds. of real BP 44-40 loads to turn the barrel to POA on two Colts of mine that he is refinishing. Luckily, he passes through my city several times a month so I don't have to ship guns nor ammo but rather hand off in person.  ;D ;)

Will,
Three years ago, April of '05, I received a special order gun that had been "regulated to point of aim" by the factory.  The target provided states that the gun was sighted in at 15 yards using Winchester, 250 grain flat nose lead, "cowboy loads."
