Howdee Yall ,
new to the board here , just wanted to share a pic of my new baby .
Colt designed her , but Alabama made her pretty-er .

She is the new Pietta 1861 Navy Gunslinger 5-1/2" barrel . She rides crossdraw with my long barelled 1861 Navy .
Bloodwood grips I done up myself with Brownells Estchutzens installed . Will share my knowledge with ya and steel yours when I like it  ;D

Have nice day ,
Sincerely , Alabama

On the 8th day God created the 1861 Navy , the other days are just days

Nice job there.  How's it shoot.

Welcome to the fire.  May I suggest joining STORM.  With a couple of 1861 Navies you are well qualified.

Hello there Ransom Gear ,
and thank you for the compliment .
It shoots as nice as the long barrelled version , but points quicker , slightly lighter of course . I honestly feel no other Colt framed revolver points as good as the 61's , something about the backstrap and trigger guard set-up that makes it quite nice in my hands . Although from what I read that opinion goes along with many others opinions of the revolver I supposes too ?
Oh , and I have a ton of other open tops too that I will post about , probably another 15 or so ? Unfortunetly none are Mason or the simular but give me time, I will get there too , but am heavy into the earlier models just yet .
Here's my Big Open Tops ...

Top one is the real Colt Black Powder version of the 3rd Model with Canary Wood grips .
Second one is Uberti's model #3 Dragoon ( Current Production ) with another set of my custom grips in Canary too .
3rd is the Mighty Walker with Walnut grips I did ,  ( Uberti's Current Production )
4th is the same, but now sports Black Walnut grips .

I love my Colts ....

And yes, I am interested in Joining up , need to research how to do that, maybe a little help there on how to ????

Thnaks again and have a great day !

Good day to ya, Alabama.

First off, your big Colts look great too.  The wood on all mine are that "lovely" Uberti Red.  I need to fix that.

Second of all.  All you have to do to join STORM is go to the JOIN STORM HERE thread and ask to join.  Shortly afterword they will tell you, you are a member.  May take a day or two.  STORM is open to ALL fans of ALL of the Colt Open Tops including the percussion models. :D  I don't have any of the conversions either, but I want some.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Sir, will get right on that soon and join right up if they let me .
Thanks again for the compliments , I enjoy the art of the gun and doing the work too , and of course love to hear praise , I am human you know . Well, so I tell my Fiance' I am, she don't believe me though , she thinks me to be a Revolver Tramp at best , hee hee ...She's right of course .
Yeh, Uberti knows how to screw up the best Walnut with thier nasty stain , that's for sure. That is the first thing to go off on all my revolvers , the grips . Plus they always fit me better if I fit them to me , you know ? It aint that hard either once you've done a "few"------dozen  . Hee hee hee . It takes some effort , but if your patient they will come out good . Hard to beat Uberti's fit though, they fit thier frames well . But any machine can do that , right ? Yup . I think that's why I call custom grips art, they are all hand done all the way . Very cool .

Wild Bill would be proud to owne this one again .

Well, time to spray some finish , have a good day !!!! Yippi Yi Yo Yi-Ya

Sincerely, Alabama

Pappy Hayes

Look forward to the pics though , soon please  ;D

Here's a 62 Colt with the 51 grip frame in .36 Cal. , what an oddball gun , but it shoots very nice ! This one is Pietta . It has English Walnut grips I made , kinda pretty gun , frame is in the white ..................
