Attention in the Barracks!

With a great amount of help from Co. Bull Schmitt, the Awards list on the GAF web site [ http://www.grandarmyofthefrontier.org/ ] is now up to date! ;D  Just goes to show ya that and old dog CAN learn some new tricks!!

You will notice that some awards are lacking a specific date.  If you will supply one to me [ PM or Email  or SoM Submission Form] I will get it added.

If you don't know what Awards are offered, go to the web site [ link above ] and click on Awards and you will be able to see the categories and determine if you have earned one or more.  If you have, click on the submission link and fill in the form and send it.  We will get you added to the list.

Again, thanks to Col. Bull for all his assistance!!

Dr. Bob

Doctor Bob,
Since you're caught up I'm assuming that means that you didn't get the applications I submitted. Should I resubmit them via the web site or should I e-mail you with them?

Probably through the web site submission form would be best.  Email is fine if you would prefer.  There was a time before I took over that some got lost.  I had to re-submit some myself.  [ To US Scout, since I can't approve myself. ]  I will be on TDY the second and third weeks of September to the lovely state of Maryland for 2 War of 1812 reenactments.

Dr. Bob
I just replied to your PM reply to my PM.  I also submitted 5 costume award through the web site submittal process and you said you never recieved them.  Someone needs to check out that process to make sure it is working since it seems several of us tried that process and it did not work.  When I get back from vacation next week I will resubmitt them because I don't have all the dates with me.

When using the web site to submit requests for awards be sure to include your name/alias. I monitor everything sent from any of the forms on the web site and tonight two awards submissions did not contain a name/alias. Without this info the Awards Officer has no idea who submitted it. This could explain the missing awards.

I have been too busy to try to keep up with submissions for quite a spell.  But there was a Color Guard at the SASS Convention in LAS last Dec.

I will try to find the names of the participants.

That would be Colonel Scratch.

I thought I submitted these - but perhaps not since we didn't have anyone actively tracking awards at the time.

Howdy Mud Marine!

Go to the site; click on "Awards"; read the commentary and requirements for SOM (Star of Merit) and at the bottom of the paragraph are a number of  "click HERE" links.  One is to submit a request, one is a link to where the stars can be purchased, and the last is to view the Awardees.

It took me a few minutes to locate the link to the list of SOM recipients, after Dr. Bob's first at the start of this thread.  Although I now know where to look,  I'm wondering if the link couldn't be made easier for others to find?

Also, would I be correct in assuming that my first place position in the Single Shot Battle Rifle category at the 2007 Muster would qualify me for a SOM for "PLACING IN A CATEGORY AT STATE OR HIGHER MATCH WHILE IN UNIFORM"?  (Mind you, perhaps those results haven't yet been submitted, since I notice Col. Pitspitr, who placed second in the same category, isn't listed either ....)

Click on the right "HERE" and get yourself submitted.  We assume complete honesty, so it's OK to DIY.
