well i have scanned through all 14 pages on this site (again) and could not find my answer.

question for those who do:
what do you all use to clean the brass on the henry?

the one i just bought seems to have gotten wet or handled with some dirty hands before shipping and i want to clean it up before i let it age on its on.

once i get it cleaned up i will post pics.

Yea, flitz.  Also brasso.  (if you have ever been in the service, you know what brasso is)  Neverduall also works quite well.  I have all three.  If you have any stubborn dark spots use some 600 grit to bring back the yellow finishing off with some 1000 or 1500 grit paper.  Then the polish.

I guess I'm the maverick around here who loves his henrys bright and shiney.

Very nice!  What did you end up using?  Who did the engraving?

i used the Flitz paste, since i already had some.  I don't know who did the engraving.....i would assume Uberti????  its not signed anywhere.  this is a Allen distributed Rifle from 1984.

Fine piece, being engraving I suppost it should be ....
The wood is nice too....

Beautiful.  Nice wood too.  Yep, it's early manufacture.  You can tell by the 2 screws on the upper tang just like the originals.  The current crop only have 1 screw.  I guess that was a cost cutting measure on uberti's part, and felt no need for it.  That's just my guess.

You done good.  Congratulations on this extraordinary find.  Yea, if it was mine, I'd keep it shiny and bright too.

After looking at the pictures I guess it should be shiny. ;D  It really looks nice and the wood looks good too.  Can't say that about my standard brass Henry.

Mine really looks better with a nice patina.

Lonesome Henry,  Hopefully it's only temporary. ;)
