Don't judge too harshly!

The '73 clones and the Marlin's are both guns that are very well suited to this game.

I started this game with a Marlin .44 Mag. Then switched to Marlin .45 Colt. I shout Black Powder and was getting alot of blowback into the action. Had to disassemble action and clean after each time I shot. So, I was looking for a .44-40 that would seal the chamber better. The local gun dealer had a great deal on a Henry .44-40 so I bought it. I love it. The Winchesters (Henry, '66, & '73) are heavier than the Marlins if that is a concern. They all can be slicked up to be as smooth as butter. I still have the Marlins with no plans on selling them.

One thought if it means anything to you, the Marlins can be loaded with a heavier than  CAS load and make a good short range deer rifle.  A man never has too many deer rifles. ;D

I'd get an OLD Win 92 in 38-40 or 44-40, add a couple drops of oil
and out shoot all of them  ;D  Love that gun !!
