Howdy! My hats looking a little worn these days, while the hat itself is in great shape (75% beaver & black in color) the ribbon on the hats band & bound edge are faded, spotted, and pale. The band & edge are not torn or anything like that so I don't really need to replace them but I was wondering if theres a way to put color back into them. Can I use fabric die to do, or will this damage the hat or is there any other suggestions? Thanks in advance, WBR

Maybe Tandy Edge Kote  :-\

Well I thought about a leather die like Tandy Edge Kote, but being it's not made out of leather I wonder if that would hurt anything. I may try and do a little test spot and see. WBR

Don't do anything to it. Any kind of die will soak through into the hat and ruin it. Take it or send it to a hat maker and have the hat band and edge binding replaced. If I knew your location I could probably help you find somebody close to you.

I agree with the Colonel on this one, maybe Herb at GPHC could help my friend.
