I really enjoy the whole BP thing. I HATE cleaning the cases and plan to get a 'vibrator' with media and do it dry.

Ditto on the "laundry" issues with fired cases!  I have settled on using ceramic media to clean all of my BP brass used in my 1876s and in my Sharps.  Just put the cases in your tumbler with the ceramic media, water, and a dab of cleaning agent, and you have cases that are bright and shiney and clean right down to the primer pockets.  Comes out looking like new brass.  You also save a pile of money as the stuff lasts forever. :)

Hey, where do you get this cermic media and what is the cost?  Got my curiosity up as it sounds pretty good.

Hi, Larryo.  I get mine from Shiloh Sharps.

Here is a link to the kit:  http://www.shilohrifle.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=40&products_id=117

The components may also be purchased separately from them.  Other outfits may also handle it.

Try it, you'll like it! ;D

Dick Dasterdly also sells a kit for the ceramic media.

www.biglube.com.

I have been using his for several years now and, like Griz says, it never wears out.

A little pricy up front, no matter who you buy it from, but it is a one time cost.

Give it a try, I think you'll like it.

Can I use ceramic media in my current vibratory tumbler?  ???

Mossyrock,

Not to be evasive, but it depends on the type of tumbler that you have.  Being that you are going to be tumbling 'WET' the center column of the tumbler bowl (the part that the threaded center mounting rod goes through) has to to be higher than on most tumblers.  Any liquid leakage will most likely end up on top of the motor - not good.

I have a Midway tumbler and I bought a Lyman 600 accessory bowl, Lyman P/N 7631399, which has the center column about the same height as the rest of the bowl.  This works great when tumbling 'WET' and it only takes about a minute to exchange bowls.

I suppose that you could install a rubber gasket on top of the center column of a standard bowl but I just didn't want to take that chance.

Two hours of tumbling cases shot with real BP and they come out looking almost as good a factory.

This is a good investment.
