Remi 1875 hammer springs

Can anyone suggest how to reduce the hammer "pull" on Uberti 1875 Remi's? or know of replacement springs?

I've replaced the mainspring with an aftermarket lightened spring from VTI on my two '75s. It worked out great on my nickeled pistol, but on my blued version the trigger became so light that I had several premature discharges while practiciing fast shooting, so much so that I opted to put the original stiff spring back in this one. Stiffer again, but much safer. Anyone advertise action jobs on the Uberti Outlaws?

"Hourglassing" the spring works, and you can control the power by how much you thin the width.  Some folks have used a Colt spring with success.

Get the after market main spring from VTI unless you are pretty handy with taking off metal from your existing spring and know what you are doing.

         Six Shot, I have two new 1875's in the blue case harden frames in 45 long Colt, I had e.m.f. put the reduced hammer springs in when i bought the guns, i also found the hammer to be too stiff and hard to pull back , i could do it but in this game you need better speed than that, i haven't shot the guns yet but i did clean and degrease them real well and then reoiled useing GUN BUTTER , that they sell here in CAS CITY, that alone made a really big difference in the smoothness of the action, i have dry fired it useing snap caps and haven't had any premature hammer drops, so i'm happy with the way these reduced springs are working, like Dead Eye Don said you can get these springs from  http://www.vtigunparts.com/ hope this was some help.

Before I put the new main spring in,  I really didnt want to shoot my 1875.  Now with the new lighter (way it should have been made in the first place!!),  I play with the gun all the time.  I can even shoot it duelist.
