Any of you buckaroos out there reload paper shot gun shells?  I have started shooting these in my 16 GA and I lik ethem a lot.  I have cut them down to 2.5" and load them on a Lee Load-all using Pyrodex RS (so I can use the powder feature of the Load ALL)...basically 7/8 oz powder, over powder card, lubed 1/2" fiber wad and 7/8 oz #7 lead shot.  Works well with no plastic inside the barrel...

Haven't reloaded any yet but am wodering how to clean if I do...any experience out there with this???

Thanks in advance!

I Shoot a Remington Spartan. My load is 65 grs/weight of Pyrodex, Claybusters Red Wad and 1 1/8 oz of shot.
I run water thru the tubes after firing, pull a boresnake thru once, spray with Ballistol or RemOil.
Done.
A couple of wads of paper towel works as well as the boresnake.

Thanks!

I am also looking for how to clean the paper shotgun shells....

I tried restuffing some of them "Gucchi" (I know that's not the proper name) paper hulls. Didn't have very good luck with them. They didn't seem to size down properly.  Scraped the ideal for once fired AA and Rem's and my brass hulls, found fiber wads worked best in all.   For me

Al,  I load Federal Gold paper shells for my '87 Winchester.  Load consists of 70 gr of APP, over powder card, 1/2" lubed cushion wad, 1 1/8 oz 7 1/2 shot, over shot card & crimp.  I started with once fired hulls, and have reloaded some of them up to 3 times before they are burned so they dont crimp tightly.  I haven't tried to clean them, other than wiping the outside with a rag.  They have a tendency to stick in the chambers of my Liberty II sxs, so I dont use them with the double.  They work really well in the '87, and probably would in a 97.

Can't give ya any tips, L. Al, but I have a small batch of loaded paper shells that I'm planning on reloading after I shoot 'em.

I know that for wads, if I were gonna reload 'em steady and would need a good quantity, I'd call Circle Fly.  They know what size is needed for whatever type of shell you're reloadin'.

T Jim, a lot of us go to the Open Range - it's not a dirty word or nuthin'.

Ms Lou sometimes comes here to visit, but not as often as we might like.

I had a small problem with my MEC Grabber and 12 gauge paper reloading.  The deprime punch opens up the neck as well. For plastic, it opens them up quite a bit as the plastic springs back.  On Paper, it left the mouth FLARED!  I called MEC, and a 16 ga. deprime punch arrived soon after.  Problem solved!

Can I pronounce Fiocchi ? Have enough trouble making the plastic hulls look presentable let
alone paper hulls. Yeah Steel Horse I hit SASS, Cas City, Open Range, Fronteir Spot, Cast Boolit,et all.
I need a lot of help.  Regards, Jim
