'75 has less screws and a one piece frame...

'73 has a longer cylinder bushing and some have removable bushings....helps keep fouling from the cylinder pin.

Smoke em if ya got em.

Pistolero

Hello all,
I have owned and shot both Colts and Remingtons and I love both. While a colt in 5 1/2" bl is a light and well balanced pistol, in my opinion an 1875 Remington is just a sleek, bad-arse looking gun to me! It also is more accurate. And to me, a history lover and admirer of the James Brothers, I always thought it was neat that Frank James preferred the Remington, first Cap and ball types and then the '75, over any other gun.  He remarked about how he loved the Remingtons, and how sturdy and accurate it was. Here is what Frank James had to say over the Remingtons:
The Remington design was stronger than a Colt, and remained popular while Remington manufactured pistols. Frank James, older brother of Jesse, preferred a Remington pistol frame above all others - http://www.civilwarguns.com/9611.html
Colt's competitors tried hard to skim sales from the Peacemaker. Smith & Wesson won an endorsement from Buffalo Bill Cody, and Remington got a resounding plug from Frank James - "The Remington is the hardest and the surest shooting pistol made," he declared - although his brother favored a rival product. - http://www.jcs-group.com/oldwest/guns.html

Please run for that Senate seat... We need pro GUN reason on Capital hill.

Also You might want to move sooner that later with EMF  :-[ they are no longer a Uberti dealer/importer
once remaining stock is gone.

It has to do with the Stoeger involvement now the distributor...Apparently Taylor's, & Cimarron are not involved.

There is a thread dang it I can find it now where Spoke persons at Uberti USA , Cimarron ,Taylor's and Debbie @ EMF confirm...

I'm thinking Boyd Davis isn't crazy about it  :-\
