Question about brass framed revolvers (New Pics)

Goex 3FFF or Dupont  (US)..others may like other flavors ....I've shot Goex for 30 years.  Goex has been around nearly 150 years of contenuous production.
there is newer Goex Express

Scheutzen & Wano from Germany
Elephant from Brazil 
Swiss ...Switzerland

These are harder to find in the States

Curtis & Harvey from the UK
Dragon & Lidu...China
UEE from Spain

KiK....Slovenia, in contenuous production since the 1850's , this one is imported by Nor West Co.

Course then there is the Subs like APP or Clean Shot which I like in my SXS.

I first started shooting Goex in 1968. Liked it fine. I used Elephant for a while, it was about the same as Goex, but it isn't made anymore.

These days I prefer Schuetzen. It costs roughly the same as Goex, but uses superior charcoal so it burns cleaner and leaves less fouling behind. Schuetzen uses the same charcoal as the much more expensive Swiss. For my money, Schuetzen is the best buy for the money in powder right now. It is made in Germany by Wano. If you can't find Schuetzen, Graf sells the exact same powder with their own label on the bottle. I use FFg in everything, but FFFg is also fine for 44-45 caliber and 36 caliber.

I did not realize Elephant was discontinued.
Just before I hung up active CW reenacting, we bought 4 cases of Elephant ,for Powder renburstments at events.
2- 3 FFF and one 2 FF ,I still have a pound or two of the 3FFF
I had not looked to buy any more as Goex was again available.

I've have used 3FFF Schuetzen in my Flintlocks & C&B revolvers and like it.

The guy that does my reloading... uses both Subs or BP ...I come to like Cleanshot/APP in my SXS

Elephant ceased production probably 2 or 3 years now. Once production ceased it was available for a while at really good prices until all the inventory was used up. I liked Elephant a little bit better than Goex because the grains seemed to have a bit more of a graphite coating and were not quite as dusty as Goex. It flowed through a funnel a little bit better too without bridging, which was the main reason I liked it better. I have heard rumors recently that Elephant is going to go back into production, but I have not seen any available yet. I still have a teeny bit of Elephant FFFg left in the bottom of one can. When I switched over completely to FFg, I had to start buying Goex because there was no more Elephant available at the time. Never did get around to using that teeny bit of FFFg Elephant yet.
