Do you need to resize cast bollits? I keep shaving lead on mine. :(

FLoyd - are you saying that when you clean the bore after shooting un-sized bullets ... there's lead in the bore?

Leaded bore is caused by two issues:
1.  Lube starvation
2.  Too high a velocity.  Black powder velocities won't lead the bore but hign smokeless will

re: Resizing - no, as long as the groove diameter and the base diameter of the bullet are within 0.003" for BP rounds

Now, if the lead is shaving in the bore forcing cone of a reveolver - then your cylinder is out of sync.  Empty the revolver - cock the hammer - look in the bore from the end of the rear frame.  Roll you eye around trying to see a !00% view of the bore.  If you can't your cylinder needs to be re-indexed

No, there is no leading in the bore. I was shaving lead loading the bollitts in 38 brass and shaving lead. Turns out the mold I was using was a little on the large size. Used a new mold and the problem went away. 8)
