I recently bought a Henry, I'm going to a cowboy shoot this weekend and thought I'd try it. My question is, when you are shooting a10 round stage how do you hold the magazine tube? Is it better to straddle it with your fingers, or regrip it in the middle of the 10 shots? One time while shooting it the tab hit my hand and a shell didn't get in the chamber? Thanks for the advice

I use the famed Henry Hop..but I also produced a spacer rod , it's 6 in one , 1/2 Doz in the other as to it's use now days.
Mine is made from Ivory look polymer.

Both my Henry's have been shot with it and or not ! ... though heat as mentioned,  can be an issue ...a glove helps ( use a cavalry gauntlet )
when planets align...do the deal !

I use the Henry Hop method also, If you shoot it enough it comes natural. The Glove is a good idea, I dont have as much problem with the heat as with the sharp edges on the Mag. Tube, after one of my first matches my Left Index Finger was like Hamburger Meat.  :o
