I have a 50-90 sharps and am using a .512 bullet I purchased from a company.  I want a mold to make my own but am having great difficulty finding the .512 molds.  I see a lot of .515 molds around can I use them instead?  will I have any problems?

Eric,
It shouldn't be a problem at all.  It could possibly be that the co. you are purchasing the bullets from are sizing them down to .512" from a slighly larger diameter.  If your cartridges will chamber with a .515" diameter bullet, I would try shooting them that way first.  If not, run them through a .512" die and have fuunnn!

Congratulations on wanting to "roll your own".  Don't let the lack of a stock mold stand in your way.  Slug your barrel and mike it well.  Then, send me an email and I'll try to guide you to a custom mold maker that can make the mold you need.  But, slug that barrel first and KNOW what size you need.  Chances are there is already a stock mold out there and finding one can save you considerable money.

No, Big Lube™ does not now have a mold of that size.  The demand isn't there to make it an inventory item.

great news all of my problems are solved.  Lee will custom build a sizer up to .575 for $29 so I can cast the .515 stuff and make it work.
