Just put my hard earned dollars down on it at Cabelas.
have the 14 day wait till I can bring her home.
Looking forward to picking up some Black Dawgs and putting some big loads of the Holy Black thru her.
Fondled her real good in the store... thumbed the hammers back... carressed the double triggers...
I think she will be a real fine addition to the remmie 1858s and the spiller & burr.
Its true... I have GAS.

Congrats on the new purchase.  Just wonderin though, why do you have to wait 14 days?  Guess other states laws are different, Colo takes at most an hour to get the backround checks done.  Not wantin to hijack your thread, but thought about headin to Neb to check out Cabelas myself.  Heard they gots some nice firearms there.

What brand a scattergun did ya get?

Good choice to go with those 58s.  Black Dawg makes some fine bp ammo.  When yer wantin' to stuff yer own, this is a good place to hang out.  You'll get more advice than you can use, some of it good. ;D

So, what rifle are using with that set?

Good schossgewehr, Evil 1!  I like those Colt repros.  TTN is selling a nice product!

I do all my BP shotshell loading by hand, with single tools, not a machine.  It's easy as pie, but a bit labor intensive.  It takes me about 45 minutes to load a box.  The few times I shoot smokeyless shells ... well, Wally World has plenty for about $14 per hundred.  I can't come close to that, and besides, our competition (I shoot NCOWS more than SASS, and then often in Working Cowboy) often uses few or no shotgun.  We make up for it other ways!  ;D ;D  To effectively load smokeyless, I'd need to invest in a machine - at LEAST a Lee Load-All, and it's just easier for me to shoot BP shotgun (schossgewehr in Ger-mer-man  ;) ) for the few times I shoot SASS (without BP) or NCOWS with smokeyless.

Its a TTN 1878, NICE feeling piece.
Dont have the rifle yet... I still have a lil while before matches start up here.
I have been keepin an eye on the shotshell topics here... trying to sponge up all the info I can.
I like the idea of stuffin my own... :D

The rewards of stuffin' yer own go far beyond the cash you will save.  You will be able to tailor loads for specific missions.  Some like nice tight death rays that will reach out and tip over tough KDs.  Others that will sweep wide for that "golden bb" hit.  For novelty you may want some with colored smoke.  Others can be made to throw sparks and still others - tracer like smoke trails (flaming wads).  Special "Texas Star" loads can have weighted center populations with enough fringe density to help with that occasional bad aim. . .

All that with the same can of Holy Black and a few tricks.  Try to buy that off the shelf. :)

Good luck with that rifle.  I'm thinkn' if I were into the cool kind of guns you have now, I'd start looking for a good used 66.  Probably something in 44-40.

It's all about fun.

Do you really have to wait 14 days to get that long gun Evil?

I just recently pickup my own TNN '78 coach gun. Would anyone know where to find instructions on how to disassemble one?

Out of the box, the action is very stiff. Even with both hands it is difficult to get the action closed. I'd like to see what I can do with the lever spring. I don't want to be caught on the firing line the first time I get to use this darling, and be stuck fumbling around to get'er closed.

Thanks!
