On a standard Colt clone such as a Uberti, what screw(s) do you take out (loosen?) to remove a one piece grip?

Thanks

Howdy!

You'll loosen the 1 at the bottom near the front of the grip, (often by the serial #) the 2 near the base of the hammer, and the one in front of the trigger guard plus the 2 right near the back of the trigger.  (6 total)  The only one I feel needs to be in order is the one on the bottom of the grip.  They can be done in any order, but I find it easiest in the order I wrote.

Don't lose track of where you removed them from and keep them in some sort of order as several are longer than others.

Howdy Pard

To take a one piece grip of a Colt or Colt clon, make sure you use the RIGHT SCREW DRIVER BIT first,( their are only three screws you need to remove to remove the grips ) then take the two back strap screws out ( top of the grip frame the two that attach the top back strap to the frame ) then at the bottom of the back strap, you will see one screw, remove this screw , ( the but of the grip ) then pull the grip and back strap backwards and off, you put it back on in reverce order.  IT'S NOT NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE TRIGER GUARD. I hoped this helped ??? :D ;D

10 Wolves is right - I added the part about the trigger guard 'cause whenever I take off the grip, I'm also cleanin' out th' innards!  ;)

Thanks for the info everyone.  Folks here have been very helpful every time I have asked.  Being somewhat a newbie to Cowboy guns I need all the help I can get.

Thanks
