I've been shooting BP in CAS since 1990 (when FC category was debuted at EOT) with 3rd Gen Colts.  I think they work just like the 1st gens.  I'm not aware of any functional difference.

As far as the pressed in cyl pin; makes absolutely not difference.  After nearly 19 years of pretty much continuous BP shooting, both pedestrian and mounted:

More important than the barrel/cyl gap is basepin/cylinder tolerance.  Whatever fouling gets past the barrel/cylinder gap seems to accumulate in the tolerance between the cylinder pin and cylinder.  This is the only thing that has ever tied up any of my revolvers using BP.  And my barrel/cylinder gap on both my Colt SAAs is .004".  Much tighter and the heat expansion is what will bind them up, not the fouling.

YMMV, but... not very likely by much! ;D
