Hello All,

Just wanted to keep everyone up to date on the new enlistments we are receiving. I am happy to report that I have been inundated with new enlistments and am entering them as fast as I get them. Once I get caught up, tomorrow hopefully, I will post their names, numbers and assignments. I would also like to report that the GAF Flyer in the Cowboy Chronicle has been unbelievably successful in the recent rash of enlistments. I received 3 enlistments at the end of Feb. and since the 1st of Mar. have received 25 enlistments. Of these 28 new enlistees, 25 list the GAF Flyer in the Cowboy Chronicle as the recruitment method used for their enlistment. I think that flyer is worth it's weight in gold!!!! As soon as I get them all entered, I will send rosters to the Commanders of each Department to keep them up to date as well. Be looking for a welcome new recruits topic very soon.

EEJ,

There was an actual enlistment flyer in the Chronicle? Which month?

It is entirely possible that the term "flyer" is incorrect. I am going off of the information I receive in the Enlistment application. It may be that the picture and accompanying info reference the recent appearance of the GAF Honor Guard sparked the interest. Either way, the information about the GAF appeared in the Chronicle and has caused quite the explosion of enlistments. I don't think we would do better if we hired a fulltime recruiter!! Thanks for requesting the clarification.

EEJ,

It was probably due to the cover picture of the GAF Color Guard at the $A$$ Convention in December, 2007 that did it then...

That and the very positive writeups we've had within the Chronicle and on the SASS Wire as a result of the Color Guard.  I can attest that the GAF Color Guard had a significant impact on the Convention Ball.

We've also been well received by NCOWS where recruits have been coming in steadily over the last four years, but in no way can they compare to the numbers that we've seen following the SASS Convention.

The March Cowboy Chronicle has a good article on GAF written by Pony Soldier.
