What exactly are gunfighter grips? How do they differ from stock grips?

Howdy......
Gun Fighter Grips are thinner then the stock grips (compaired to Ruger) They feel more like you are gripping a colt. If you have smaller hands they seem to work out better. Your milage may very  ;)

Good shootin......

Hext, that web site doesn't show the truth.  I have a set of factory Bisley grips here (actually 2).  I just took a ruler to them.  They are made of 1/2 inch stock, not 3/4 as listed on that web site.  But the ones from them, and they'll be no different.

The Eagle grips are 1/4 inch.

Doc, I don't know about the TRUTH.. Pretty strong words there.  ::) >:(

I think it shows a fairly graphic representation of the difference between the types of grips.  Adios,

It does Hext, but they are advertising their's as being 1/2 inch thick, thinner than a 3/4 inch Ruger grip.  The factory Ruger grips that I have here are 1/2 inch thick.  Meaning that their's aren't any thinner, but the same size.

I know a shooter here who bought those grips and when they arrived, found out they were exactly the same size as the stock Ruger grips they were replacing.  They were sent back the same day.

Wonder where they found factory 3/4 inch Ruger grips?  Wouldn't be off a Vaquero or Bisley.  Those are 1/2 inch.

Okay, boys leather them hoglegs and shake hands.  ;) I'm buying the next round.  ;D

Well.. I'll always drink..
I still think ya better be careful about what one calls truth.
Eagle makes a gunfighter grip.  It may even be the original gunfighter grip.  Slim asked what was the difference.  I think the webpage referenced show a representation of the difference in the grips.

Adios.. and bottoms up.

Dang it.. I hate it when Doc is right (or maybe it's when I'm wro.. wrooon.. wronny.. aaahh.. mistaken) :P ::) :-[

Check this out:
The get-a-grip standard grip is a bit thicker than the factory.. the eagle gunfighter is a good bit thinner than the factory..

Good on ya Hext!  Maybe the Get-a-Grip grip is thinner than some stock Ruger grip they got, but if so, I'd like to have seen the rest of the gun!
