Several months ago, when visited the factory, Doug Donnelly showed me a prototype of a new model SAA they were going to produce. The gun looks like a 100 year old Colt handed down from your great grandfather.

Well they've hit the retail outlets. Saw one the other day at Hoffman's in CT. selling for $689. Definitely worth a look. See it at http://www.usfirearms.com

Wow! I just looked at the USFA site myself and see their price is $968
Could swear Hoffman's had it for $689 (I don't think I'm dyslexic!). Maybe a quick trip down to CT is in order  ;)

Purty lookin gun, but that price tag is a bit steep for my budget! :-\

I guess the USFA I antiqued and added a coin front sight just went up in value.... ;D

The one Hoffman's has IS less than list price.  I saw it, too.

I'm surprised it's still there.

Hey Wise and Knowledgeable SeaCow,

How did you go about antiqueing your pistol?

Tommy tornado

To each and there own, but I have never understood paying extra money for a used finish on a gun.  Why not buy a standard finish gun and use the snot out of it?  However I do realize that it is all personal choice.

I gotta agree with T.Tornado on this one.  If you're trying to look like a 1880s cowboy (or some such) why have a 100 year old looking finish on a gun that (supposedly) was introduced 7 years ago.  Besides if you do shoot the darkside with it, some kinda finish will definitely help protect the metal (as was the intent of putting finishes on firearms).
