Howdy the camp
got my new Taylor Engraved 45 finally today. Got the poly-ivory grips from Boones Traders in Washington. They were installed by Bob at Walker 47. Did a fine job on it. I think I might get it blued down the road (it is "in the white"), what do ya'll think? If it shoots as nice as my other Taylor I will be pig-out happy.
If any of yall got a new gun recently, lets see'em

Say, Curley, that's right purty.  Ol' Lonesome does some good work, if ya' ask me.

He did a good bit of overhaulin on all of my main match guns a few years back; after almost ten years of hard use, they was gettin a mite cranky, and he just ironed 'em right out.  Was like they was new, when I got 'em back; naw, better'n new.

Yup,
I shot some guns he had worked on and they were mighty sweet. I will use his services. Do ya'll think I should get this thing blued, or leave it in the white?

Well, if you leave it in the white, it'll eventually develop a darker grey patina, and the engraving will become more defined, as the grooves will darken even more.  If you get it blued, the engraving becomes as reflective faceting, and the whole gun will sparkle; it would look really good in that deep colt midnight blue.  Or, maybe you could get it "two toned"; blue and nickel. 8)

good suggestions,
I think I will either leave it white, or go with all blue. I have an old Jager Dakota (actually it was the Californian, a kit I got in the '80 for $129) I used a deep cold blue on it and it turned out looking like it was an old finish. Only thing I really hated was the brass trigger/backstrap. But now they are coming out with it again so old is new again
thanks for the input

That is a crime to leave that lovely old .36 Navy on the wall Curley!  The new gun looks great  ;).  Enjoy shooting it and happy holidays.
