Deadeye Don,

That is the forend grip, as typical for all Spencers.

It is the forstock for a Spencer carbine.  When you are holding the gun to shoot, this protects your left hand from the hot barrel.  Personally I think it is over priced.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome, and well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming...."WOW!... What a ride!"

Deadeye,
Nice website. Are those prices flexable or can offers be made?

Deadeye Don

Oh duh.   I was thrown off by the perspective of the picture.  Now I see it.    If they had called it a forestock I would have known.  Never heard it called a handguard before.

Harve,  I am not sure about making offers on this site.   The owner is a well known military collector and I bet he has things priced pretty right for the market.  It never hurts to try.   :D
