What is the Grand Army of the Frontier?

   So,  I'm checking out the Goddard Cowboys website for the dates of their shoots in 2008,  and I see a shoot scheduled as a "Grand Army of the Frontier" shoot.

I managed to figure out that this forum is somehow related to the GAF,  but that's about all I have figured out.  I tried to go to the home page of the GAF, and couldn't get past the ads to find any meaningful information.

What is the Grand Army of the Frontier?

I went to that website   I can't make heads or tails out of it.  It appears to be simply a collection of advertisements

The website is indeed down again, probably a problem with the server.
The GAF is an organization dedicated to honoring the memory of the victoian era military of all nations. It started as a collection of CAS shooters who were interested in military history and grew to include reenactors and historians as well. Keep checking the website because when it comes back up it has a far more eloquent description than I can provide.

I'll second what Col. Pitspitr says ... it's an EXCELLENT and professionally done website!  We are all very proud of it.  I hope it comes back ASAP!
