Cimmaron/Uberti 44 Special 5.5 inch 1872 OT's

Well, I got me a pair of these fine shooting irons from my lovely bride as my 14th anniversary gift from my wife (she wanted a new refrigerator).

The guns were given a smooth action, 2.5 lb trigger pull, and new firing pins and were antiqued prior to our purchase friom Frio  a gunsmith/ffl out of Northern Va.

These guns are awesome, they point well, and shoot as well as I can with 44 russian or 44 colt ammo - Holy Black of course.  The guns are capable of 44 special and made for it - but the gun will probably never see a 44 special inside them at least while they are mine.

The sights are a mite bit easier to shoot with than my 51 Navies with R&D kits and the recoil from the larger rounds with lighter 1872 OT's actually make target acquisition after the first shot easier.

The antique job is nice and actually amounts to the closest I will ever come to shooting a non-blued cowboy gun.  I love the look of the stainless and nickel guns - just can not shoot them worth a darn!!

I will make a report again when I shoot a full match with them but I am quite happy with these OT's.

Oh and Frio is a pard to do business with - two 5.5 OT's with action jobs and antiques cost me about 750.00 - not bad for a pair of main match ready for competition guns.

TWF - I do owe the wire some pics.

I shot these pistols in a full match yesterday and had a blast:)

No need to wipe down or even spray with ballistol and I shot 6 stages - Holy Black!!

They are keepers - I think in 2 day matches now I will shoot my 51 Conversions (38 spl) on one day and then shoot my 72 OT's (44 Russian) on the other.
