SSS members and guests do you have photos from the Vietnam Conflict or Gulf War Conflict you would like to share?  If you do please post them in this thread, or Email them to me at fsgrand2@fairpoint.net  and I will post them for you.  Please describe the photo(s) - where taken, what year and any other information you might want to include.  My wife suggested a photo from back then in your military outfit AND NOW, in your cowboy outfit, just for comparison :o :o :o

You sure look loaded down Two Flints. Thanks for sharing a great photo.

Two Flints

Harve,

We were all loaded down.  We received orders the night before to pack all of our personal gear; we were being transported by helicopter to somewhere on the Cambodian Mountains (shown way off in the distance from the bunker). Since we were told that we were coming back to Hill #25, I took my Keystone 3 turret 8mm movie camera, several books, and other personal items I had and wrapped them up in plastic and inside an ammo box and buried the ammo box inside my sand bag bunker for safe keeping.

Well we never went back to Hill #25, and I assume that my movie camera and books are still buried there!

Two Flints,
What is that horizontal line, looks like a wire or cable?

Harve, it's just a scratch in the photo...all my best photos are in Maine.  Two Flints

Two Flints you look as if you have "weathered" well.

Between my service in the Marines and now I can make two of me!!! ;D

My Hats off to you Viet Nam Vets!!

I did a short tour in Iraq in 2005.  I was a flight engineer on C-130's.  We flew 22-23 missions in and out of Iraq.  The pic is on the tarmac at Baghdad International Airport.  The main reason I posted the pic is show my Mexican loop holster.  I made it for the Berreta 92-G.  I got a lot of smiles and "cool holster",  from a lot of guys.  There were no regs governing holsters so the regular AF folks couldn't say a word about my rig.  Plus it worked well wearing the flak vest.  It was a small part to contribute to the war, but I am glad I went.

Panhead Pete,

Any side views of the holster ??? ??? Or any better views of it that you can show?

I like Johnny Cash's "Drive On"!  A good Viet Nam Vet perspective.  I just turned 50 so I was right on the heels of the V-N War.

Best Regards,

Two Flints

Panhead,

Thanks for the additional photo...looks good.  You made that?  If yes, any other samples of your work?

Howdy Again Two Flints,

I sent an email to your personal address.  I did not want to stray too far off topic.

Kind Regards,

Panhead

Pretty nice holster Panhead Pete. Your carrying on a tradition with a holster like that, Gen. Patton would have tried to trade you out of it. ;D

panhead pete

Thanks Harve!

I wanted to carry my Vaquero (Faux Ivory grips, stainless steel) over there, but going to Leavenworth for having an unauthorized firearm didn't seem worth it.  At least I was able to pack my iron cowboy style!!
