Found these pics of a repeater on my PC, but i can't remember the name of the rifle or any other information.

 That there's a Porter Revolving Rifle. P.W. Porter from NY debuted it in 1851.It was chambered in .44cal. The reference I have doesn't give a specific .44 though. Apparently Mr. Porter died at the hands of one of his latter firearms whilst demonstrating it for Sam Colt  The lever advanced the cylinder, and that odd looking bit on top was a loading lever. They held between 8 and 9 rounds, depended on which model.

Yep, it had a small defect.  The charged turret had balls facing the shooter.  Chain fires were very exciting.
