Hello folks,

Recently, I borrowed a '60 Army from a friend for some measurements and discovered that the bolt is dropping at half cock.  The leg that engages the cam on the hammer looks pretty bad and there is'nt enough spring in the part to snug the side of the hammer.  It's a 1991 manufacture.  Compared to the Uberti parts I pulled from my own guns (not that they are stellar), I am not really impressed with it's quality (the bolt, that is).  I was wondering if any you folks could recommend an alternative part manufacturer or maybe just update me on current Pietta quality.  I'm a cheap bastard and I'd hate to waste time or money on a part I won't be happy with.  Much obliged, Jon

Current Pietta quallty is head and shoulders above what it was ten years ago.  The current production is fantastic.  I would go to VTI and order a new bolt.  They are a work of art compared to the old ones.
