The NCC2007 was held at Ft. Riley, KS during the third week of September, 2007.  Some photo of that event are here:

My wife and I are in picture 41.

Rules for the various competitions and placement in this year's event can be found at the U.S. Cav. Assn. website:

Next year's event will be held from 18-20 SEP 2008.

It's a good time with some interesting competitions.  Hope we see some of you there!!!!!  :)

What great photos!!  Thanks for posting!  The one photo I saw of the competitor hitting the exploding target is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !!! Every BP shooter should see it!

Lets try:  http://public.fotki.com/fklink/national-cavalry-co/ncc07-014.html  (I hope it's OK for me to post this link, since it's not MY photo.  ::)

I sure wish I'd have been there/known about these functions during the short time (18 mo.) I was stationed at Ft. Riley!  :(  (Since I was there during the 1st Gulf War, well, I wasn't actually AT Ft. Riley the whole time, and I don't remember if they had this event there then: 1991-1992.  It might have been postponed by the War or didn't even exist at that time.)

I now have some more computer searching to do!  ;D ;D

During the Directors Cup (the final even that pulls together the four individual events of Military Horsemanship, Military Field Jumping, Mounted Saber, and Mounted Pistol) they filled the balloons with propane.  It DOES make an impressive "flash-BANG."

The venue for next year has not been finalized, but someplace in CO is looking pretty good right now.  Since my wife and I are both retired USNR we don't have issues with access, shopping, etc. but some folks do.  As soon as I have a location I'll post it.  But that won't lilkely be until next spring.

We always have a good time and the parties and dinners are always good.  Hope you (and others) can join us next year!

I should also say that the photos are not mine.  They were taken by a lady named Dori Luzbetek from CA.  I thinks she did a superlative job.
