Hello SSS,

The following question was asked:

Does any one know the exact dimensions of the ArmiSport Spencer .56-50 bore and groove diameter?

I Emailed my contact at Armi Sport in Italy, and was sent the following chart which may or may not answer the above question.  It requires some interpretation, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Hello Two Flints,
The enclosed a chart showing all dimension for 56-50.  I have translated major references, if it's not clear let me know and I will translate it completely, it is the official CIP European Chart for the cartridge which we designed according to our dimensions.

Two Flints-

If you are wanting to know the "exact" bore diameter of your rifle, you might try slugging it.  Even a factory printed spec is going to vary from rifle to rifle.  I use a pure lead bullet for a 58 cal musket, tap it into the muzzel (after cleaning and lightly oiling the bore) with a wood or plastic mallet, then I switch to a short starter, tap the slug in more with it then finish with a oak dowel close to bore size to finish it.

Back to the chart.  At least it gives an over all length (L6) for both ctgs/bullet styles of 38.56.  That converts out to 1.5181".

Too bad we cannot collect more information on bullet used and OAL.

Good luck,

David

It also gives the diameter of the barrel with a bore of 12.7 mm and a groove of 12.95 mm .
