OIJ and all y'all:

John has a sweet-looking shoulder holster for a Remington Pocket Pistol for sale in the Classifieds. He says he's selling it because he heard there was going to be a cartridge conversion cylinder but it never got made. But I was wandering around Taylor's Web site and found this:

http://www.taylorsfirearms.com/products/detail-accessories.tpl?subcategory=Conversion%20Cylinders&startat=21

Last item, P1863 (there's a typo where it says "... 1863 Pocket Remington in .36 caliber..." - they mean .31 caliber, of course).

So what the hey? Does this thing really exist, or is Taylor's smoking something funny, or do my medications need to be checked again? I think I might call them tomorrow.

I gotta remember to call them. If it doesn't exist, why the heck is it being advertised?  ???

Of course the baby is a .31

Hey, if ya read some of them Italian mfgrs web sites, you'll notice that generally, they have no idea what they're even making  :D

They even mis-named their replica of the New Model 1863, .44 Remington, the "Model 1858"  ::)
Gotta take it all with a grain of salt, or better a tall sip of corn squeezin's

I placed an order for it about 6 weeks ago. All hopeful to have my baby able to switch just like its big Pietta Brothers..... Well a week later, I get a call telling me they are on backorder with no time yet on delivery   ???  .I think they are just waiting for enough orders to set up the machining and let it rip.  But until then.

I ordered one from Taylors in January of '05. After 6 monthes of e-mailing inquiries, I finally received a response telling me they were on backorder and they should receive them in October of '05. I never received any other word from them and never got the cylinder either.  ???

I've seen them for sale on Gunbrokers a few times. But only as a package deal with the pistol. But at least that proves they do exist.  :P

If you get yours, I'd be glad to know if it's worth me trying again.

P.S. They've since corrected the caliber designation on the website.

I have just bought such a weapon from another SASS member. He had his conversion done by Bob Millington at Armsport LLC.
