Steelhorse,

Did you ever find any hard rubber grips for your Remington?

Howdy!

Tubac,  Nope - but a pard gave me some beautiful walnut ones, so I'm happy.

Thanks!  Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Willy,  Just in case you dont know.  EMF distributes the Uberti 1875.  So they are one and the same.  There is no difference except for the EMF address on the barrel.
mine's a bit older than the Uberti's they're getting now, though I have one of those too,the other one I've got is marked clearly,EMF,and ASM.

Here are my 75's, with Will Ghormleys Jessie rig. Consucetive serial numbers. Cost: one $10 raffle ticket.

Anyways, did ya ask EMF for a lighter spring. They have them. Mine came with them already installed. Give them a call up.

Ok

Not to hijack yer thread ;)

I keep hearing rumors of the elusive Italian repo 1875 that has an original style cylinder latch. Now I'm not even close to being an expert on them new-fangled built for cartridge guns (always thought it was just a fad). Do they exist? Anyone with factual knowledge and/or photos?

Also I just recently traded my blue/case 7.5" 1875 45 Colt for a Nickle 7.5" 44-40. The Nickle gun has a post style (like a NMA) front sight and the blue/case gun had a Colt SAA style sight. I assume that this is a transitional thing in the original 1875's (as Remington made a lot of transitions) but is this true or did Uberti make the transition same as the cylinder pin latch?

HH.

On page 83, Karr's "Remington Handguns" 2nd edition, is stated,
"Small iron sights have been found on some of the Model 1875's
  instead of the larger blade."

Well there ya go :P
Thanks Tubac!

I guess my nickle 44-40 with the NMA (in repro terms; 1858) style front sight is a "transitional" Uberti :-\
