Hi there Remington lovers, . . got a question.  I have an ASM '58 that came to me as part of a deal, and which I kept as an extra ( it was cheap ) though I shoot Piettas.   I has a  VERY beaten up cylinder ( which functions Ok ) though the rest of the pistol looks decent ( 80 % or so ) .  I'm offered a cylinder on another forum and wonder if these swap Ok from one pistol to another as the Piettas do or if there are problems.  Thanks in advance for any input.   :)

ps.  My pistol's proof marks make it manufactured in 1990.  The cylinder offered is said to have been with a EMF pistol ( that the offerer no longer has ) from '95.  I didn't know that EMF had been selling the ASM pistols, but '95 was before I was involved in cowboy / old west / civilwar type pistols.

I've yet to have a problem in swapping cylinders between these '63 N.M.A.'s manufacturers.

From the same manufacturer you "should" have no problems.........there is always "tolerance stacking" that could bite you on the butt :-[

I say go for it!

Hi pards, . . . thanks for the input.  I've posted on the other wire that I'll take it.   It'll be nice to have a good looking cylinder in it instead of the beat up on that came with it, and always good to have at least 2 cylinders for any '58.  Even if it is an extra.  Good shootin', . . .  :)
