Rattlesnake Jack;  Maybe we should add a membership category for FRIENDS & NEIGHBOURS?

I can think of a few names already;  Okotoks, Doc Neeley, Delmonico, and  now Mustang Gregg.

Back a bit, when we were planning this board, DELMONICO wrote me:

"Yep, and I have Ian Tyson on here at work right now.  I'll see if I can find that thread, things move fast over there and it's down a few pages.  We have a lot of fun with our friendly banterin; back and forth, tried to get them to make me an honorary Canadian, but they said they won't."

Del;  How about being one of our FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS?

Another famous Nova Scotian was Wilf Carter from Canning NS who came out west to become a cowboy and a western singer and, as they say, the rest is history.

What used to be Wilf's ranch is not far from where I live.  It's about a mile east of the Town of Cremona, AB.  It is now known as the Reed Ranch.  I have Wilf Carters 50th Anniversary cassette tape, can't find it in CD format.  In the U.S. Wilf went under the name of Montana Slim.

Ian Tyson's ranch, as the crow flies, is just a couple of miles SE of Longview, AB. He has a little coffee spot in Longview called the Navajo Mug.  You can get a coffee and Ian's CDs and assorted western themed stuff.

Pull up a chair Delmonico and welcome to Canada.

Then there was Anne Murray from Springhill, NS. who was George Bush Sr's favorite female singer.

My wife is an Anne Murray clone.  Everywhere we lived across Canada, people used to say to her as we were going through the check out, "did anyone ever tell you that you look like Anne Murray.  We had a neighbor in Ottawa who was East Indian and he said to me one day, "you know Irene sure looks like that singer, Anne Marie".  I said, "you mean Anne Murray? "Yeah, that's it."

In Moose Jaw one of her fellow teachers was talking to her and accidentaly called her Anne.

We were out jogging one day and a bunch of her female students were across the street and they all yelled out Hi, Anne Murray.

One time in Barrie, ON we went to a resturant on New Years Eve and, as soon as we walked in everyone stopped eating and their eyes followed us right to our table.  They continued to stare for a bit then realized it wasn't her, but ito them, it could have been, as Anne only lived down the road, so to speak.

Now...if Irene could only sing........might be able to make a buck or two as an impersonator  :) :) :)
