One of the many nice things about retirement. Carry what you damn well please. Bought my Smith service pistol when I retired for a dollar. Each of my investigators gave me a quarter. Code of the Commonwealth. Check it out before you sign the papers, EEJ.

Carry Glocks now. They weren't a buck each. What does the department do? Go to Glocks AFTER I retire............

Was that Smith a New Model No. 3 or a Schofield?

Ain't git that kindah luck, PF. 5946. All steel. Big, heavy, doesn't conceal well 'n a trigger travel a mile 'n half long.

You're right Arcey,

We can buy ours for a $1.00 upon retirement too. By then, 41/2 to 5 years, we will be carrying the .40 cal. I'll defintely be buying it before I say adios to the job. Thanks for the info on PR. I pm'ed him and he said that it could be done. Thanks again.

Figgered Nate could do it. Ain't nothin' I've seen he couldn't. Nice new Stuckey's next ta the shop with good coffee. They been pickin' up bidness from the south side. Folks stoppin' on the way back from Wakefield droppin' off, then pickin' up next trip by. Makes it easy.

The shop had a l'il place just west of the light in the series of small businesses on the right. Now they got a nice new place just 'fore ya leave town on the left.

Hey Cuts,

We currently use the 92 Vertec, no safety, just de-cocking lever. We will be going to Beretta .40 cal. in March '08. Not my favorite pistol but it will get the job done.
<snip>

I am looking forward to the upgrade to .40 cal. A real bullet!!! Yikes!!!!

I guess I can give credit where it's due, the fixed sights on the 92D work very well for me. And the factory grips are not all THAT bad. But the 92D is double action only :o and ours are factory set at 11.5 lbs. And Woe Betide the armourer who touches that trigger, his @$$ will be in a HUGE sling with the brass! I could live with the heavy pull if it were smooth but it's stagey and gritty to my notion. Best I can do with it has been 87, very consistantly, but still just 87. (heck I have gotten a 95 with my little Jennings .380 fer cryin out loud! And the sights on it are autrocious!)
