I have been shooting for over 40 yearsbut only recently got interested in older styles of firearms.  I think it comes from my discovery of much fun it has been shooting my Ruger Bisleys.   I love the style of the old percussion cap and ball but was turned off to shooting them about 25 years ago by the poor quality of the gun I picked up and the mess it made trying to shoot it in the 95 degree heat of south Louisiana.  Crisco everywhere.

Then I discovered cartridge conversions.  I finally gave in to my desires and bought a Uberti OT with a 4 3/4 in barrel.  I shot some handloads  made with Trailboss yesterday in the rain (could not wait any longer).  Great fun.  I am already looking at another repro purchase.

I would appreciate any info you can send my way, especially loads both black powder and smokeless.   Only need to learn how to load holy black.

Happy Thanksgiving

Suggest you go to the "The Darksider's Den" under CAS topics. There is a ton of wealth there waiting to be discovered. I know what you are going through. I couldn't find any one comprehensive book, article, etc. that covered all of my questions. After you do your searches then you can come back with specific questions that the knowledgeable pard's can help you with. It's frustrating trying to put it all together, but with the Forum's help you'll get the answers.
Good luck!  ;D
